The hallmark of a Leonian is the spirit of service. The College seeks to foster graduates who will be men for others. Through its Outreach program Leo's seeks to develop a sense of justice and social concern. Leo's seeks to spark a passion for truth and justice, and to nourish courage and commitment through meaningful experiences that challenge residents to be agents for social change.
St Leo's provides residents with opportunities to extend themselves beyond the classroom, gain a better understanding of the world, and develop key competencies that employers value.
St Leo's provides a number of opportunities for its residents to engage in co-curricular activities with local, national and international communities. These opportunities aim to present a social justice and community development agenda to students and to involve them in internship, international engagement, outreach, leadership and charity functions. Programs extend over months, weeks, days or as a one off event.
Each of the programs detailed in the St Leo's Outreach Program can contribute to St Leo's residents receiving the UQ Advantage Award. Find out more about this award by visiting the UQ website: www.uq.edu.au/undergraduate/advantage-award/ and reading the Program Information & Activities Guide. Residents are encouraged to enrol in the UQ Advantage Award and engage in the activities of their choice. Residents may also engage in these St Leo's programs without enrolment in the UQ Advantage Program.
