Community Coordinator – Wellbeing

St Leo’s College

St Leo’s College is a single sex male residential college at The University of Queensland. Most of its residents are enrolled in undergraduate programs and come from the regional centres of Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

St Leo’s is a values driven community in the heart of the UQ campus, one of the four colleges on College Rd.


St Leo’s College is seeking to appoint a part-time fixed term Community Coordinator – Wellbeing. The appointment will be for an initial term and renewal, subject to annual review.

The Community Coordinator – Wellbeing will be rostered per those Hours of Work outlined below for 41 weeks, excluding the mid-year break. Accommodation will be available from 1 January 2021 through to 31 December 2021.

The Community Coordinator – Wellbeing role is an established position at the College and the employment package will be informed by accommodation benefits as well as the statutory requirements of the Higher Education General Staff Industry Award.


  1. Fully air-conditioned, ensuited double bedroom in the three-bedroom College staff apartment (fully self-contained with cooking and washing amenities).
  2. Three meals per day, seven days per week at the College dining room.
  3. All utilities and amenities are included, i.e.: power, water, Wi-Fi, cleaning, linen, gym and parking.

Hours of Work

The successful candidate will be required to work a total of 18 hours per week as below, excluding the mid-year break. Penalty rates as applicable will be applied.

  1. Sunday            5:00pm – 11:00pm
  2. Wednesday     5:00pm – 11:00pm
  3. Thursday         5:00pm – 11:00pm.

The successful candidate will also be required to work additional hours in P Week and O Week as well as seven formal dinners and on an occasional Saturday afternoon during the course of the year.

Outside the 41 weeks the successful candidate will still be entitled to the benefits outlined above; but will have no hours of work at the College.
