Extension Function

All Centenary Ball tickets have now sold out, unfortunately. Due to overwhelming demand we have organised an extension function at a venue local to the BCEC.

The letter below provides important information on the following topics relating to the Centenary Ball. I encourage you to take a couple of minutes to read the letter and share it with any of your fellow Leonians who have not received it:

  • How the Leo's Centenary Ball sold out in just 7mins!
  • Details of the Brisbane Convention Centre size constraints
  • Details of the Centenary Ball extension function including:
    • Location: The Charming Squire (underneath the Brisbane Convention Centre)
    • Cost: $125 per head
    • Time and date: Identical to the Centenary Ball Sat Jul 29, from 6:30pm
    • Pre and post Ball meeting place for ALL
  • How to get your hands on a ticket for The Centenary Ball extension at The Charming Squire

Bookings

Below is everything you will need in order to book your tickets. We apologise for the level of detail however this is unavoidable if we are to ensure an efficient process:

Tickets go on sale:   Apply by email only from Wednesday 19 April at 09:00 to
alumni@stleos.uq.edu.au – please do not email us before
that time as we cannot accept any sales prior to 09:00
on 19 April.

Next steps:               As emails arrive after 09:00 on 19 April we will process
them in the sequence the emails arrive in that inbox.

Info to send:             With your email you will need to send us the following info:

  1. The name and contact number of you, the 'Ticket Purchaser'
  2. The number of tickets the Ticket Purchaser is buying (sales of 10 or more will be $155 per ticket, ticket sales up to 10 will be $160 per ticket)
  3. A list of names and contact details for whom the Ticket Purchaser is buying the tickets
  4. Dietary requirements for attendees

Procedure

We are expecting significant demand for tickets and accordingly we have adopted the below noted procedure to ensure a fair process for ticket purchases.

  • From 09:00 on 19 April we will start processing emails, in the order they arrive in the inbox.
  • We will telephone you, the Ticket Purchaser, to get a credit card number so that all tickets you have requested can be paid for in full at the time of that phone call.
  • If we cannot reach you, the Ticket Purchaser, we will try to contact the next person named on your list (refer to point 3 above) and advise you by email we have completed the transaction with the next named person on your list.
  • Should we be unable to reach any of the people named on your list, within 48 hours of receipt of your email in the inbox, we will move on to the next email on our list.
  • We will continue that way until all tickets are sold.

Please note the following:

  • Reimbursements to Ticket Purchasers are the responsibility of patrons on each list
  • Communications to coordinate patrons' attendance at the event is the responsibility of the Ticket Purchaser
  • The College is not in a position to assist with reimbursements where patrons are unable to attend the event, for whatever reason, however patrons may sell or give their ticket to a third party.

We will send reminder emails as we get closer to the on-sale date. Tickets are limited and will be issued on a first come, first served basis.
