A rare and exciting opportunity to join the St Leo's College leadership team. St Leo's is a Catholic men's residential College located at St Lucia. The College has a distinguished collegiate history and strong relationship with The University of Queensland characterised by its academic, sporting, cultural, social, faith-based opportunities. St Leo's affiliated with UQ in 1917 and is currently home to more than 200 residents. We are a small, fast-paced and inclusive team that values employees, characterised by strong interpersonal relations.
Qualifications & experience
- Undergraduate degree, with post-graduate preferable
- Experience in a similar role highly desirable
- Extensive analytical and computer skills (MS Office), StarRez experience highly regarded
- Task-focused with strong time management skills
- Candidate will be required to obtain a Blue Card (reimbursed by College)
Tasks & responsibilities
- Oversight of the general welfare of College residents, including behaviour management. Counselling and guiding residents and supporting them to achieve the best outcomes of which they’re capable
- Management of residential team (6 staff). Ensuring that staff in the residential team deliver the priorities informing a benchmark residential experience alert to residents’ welfare and wellbeing and their respective academic successes
- Management of student leadership team of 10. Heading up St Leo’s team of resident leaders, ensuring that they maintain a strong and discernible College presence, working with and supporting their residents in their College lives
- Interactions with residents across a wide range of activities- cultural, academic, sporting, social, faith-based. Ensuring a diversity of College offerings, working with St Leo’s Staff and the St Leo’s Students’ Club to ensure a rich and engaging College experience
- Interactions with The University of Queensland agencies, other UQ Colleges, families of residents and other stakeholders, ensuring that St Leo’s is apprised of developments as they arise so that College responses can be timely and intelligent
- Oversight and management of room allocation and semester calendars, delivering accurate “one-source-of-truth” master lists so that planning can be both effective and informed
- School marketing visits and other after-hours time commitments to support the College in its drive to consistent full occupancy
- Start of year planning and preparation for newly arriving residents, ensuring that St Leo’s annual First Year intake enjoys a well-planned and formed welcome to the College and that returning residents feel like they’re coming home
