Giving back to the Community

During their stay at St Leo’s, Residents at St Leo’s will invest considerable amounts of their own time and energies into raising money to support various causes.

These philanthropic opportunities also facilitate excellent social networking with other UQ Colleges. Together with our sister college, Duchesne, our collegians have long been organising semesterly activities to raise money for St Vincent de Paul Society. In an initiative spanning the last two years, residents have been helping to prepare and serve meals to those in need at Emmanuel City Mission, alongside our neighbors at St. John’s College.

Additionally, through thoughtful advocacy, residents have persuaded the St Leo’s administration to donate any student fines collected throughout the year to St Vincent de Paul Society (unless the paying resident requests a different charity of their choosing).
