There have only been a ICC few sports and cultural events held so far however here are all the details:
Stop the press! We won the first ICC sporting comp of the year!
Our intrepid team of Andrew O’Sullivan, Tim Boniface, Ryan Wagner and Jason Koh beat all the competition to take home the winner’s pennant. Every game was won in straight sets apart from the one we played against St John’s – and we had to take it to a third set before we were crowned as the champs.
We Leonians are not natural fish! It won’t surprise you to learn we came in sixth place in the swimming carnival. We had to find lots of new swimmers this year after many of our team from the previous year left having completed three years at Leo’s.
Well done to the team of: Daniel Niven, Tim Boniface, Slade Du Randt, James Doolan, Thomas McNulty, Jack Moore, Bradley Canov, Kent Xiong and Brendan O’Sullivan.
We won another ICC sport! This is the best start we have had to ICC Sport in years. After 3 games on Friday night (against Cromwell, St John's and Emmanuel) we were leading the comp. We then beat International House and Union on Saturday to leave King's College to play on Sunday. The game against King's ended with a score of 3-2 to us which meant we had beaten every College and were crowned the Men's Touch Champs.
Well done to the team of: David Boyes, Joshua Curti, Tom Effeney, Dominic Greene, Matthew Hurrell, Tyler Kiernan, Thomas McNulty, Gerard Moriarty, Daniel Niven, Tim Schurmann, Dylan Sears (who was also one of the conveners), Tom Siemon, Lincoln Stokes, Darcy Webb-Smith.
Thanks to Hayden D'Addona who many of you will remember as a Resident from 2015-17 - he convened with Dylan.
U20 Rugby has just started and tennis is underway. Cross-country, rowing, table tennis, volleyball and cricket are all coming up over the next couple of months.
Toby Burstow represented Leo’s at this year’s College Idol with his rendition of: Dumb Things by Paul Kelly. Toby came in with an 8th place finish.
Debating and chess will start soon with the Art Show, Band Fest and Choral Fest all coming up.
More details about those other sports and cultural events will be in the end of Semester 1 newsletter. We will also add links to the You Tube videos.
Stay safe, enjoy the break and we look forward to welcoming our new residents next year!
